Alexander Vladimirovich Gasnikov
Rector of Innopolis University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
He has authored over 200 papers and 7 books, specializing in optimization theory — one of the cornerstones of advancement in machine learning and artificial intelligence systems.
He heads the Department of Mathematical Foundations of Control and the Laboratory of Mathematical Optimization Methods at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), having previously served as the academic supervisor of the Applied Mathematics and Physics track at the MIPT School of Physics and Mathematics.
Before assuming the rectorship of Innopolis University, he led the Laboratory of Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Laboratory of Multiscale Neurodynamics for Intelligent Systems at Skoltech, while also holding the position of Principal Research Scientist at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.
